Miles Township Fire Company Receives Equipment for Pet Resuscitation
Thursday, January 23rd, 2014

Miles Township Fire Company is proud to offer additional services to our community by now carrying pet resuscitation equipment on some of our apparatus. It has been estimated that 40,000 dogs and cats die each year from smoke inhalation. We recognize that pets have become an increasingly important part of many families, and we now have equipment on our trucks to provide basic medical care to pets that have been exposed to smoke when it is safe for us to do so following a fire. Personnel were trained in the proper use of the equipment by a volunteer veterinarian. The kits were donated to our company by Air For Paws, a non-profit organization.
