| Shortly after returning and cleaning up from the previous incident on 1801, Company 19 and other mutual aid companies were dispatched to a dwelling fire on the 200 block of Smullton Road. Chief 19 responded and was informed of a chimney fire with possible fire in the wall and a smoke condition inside the house. Engine 19 and Tanker 19 followed shortly after Chief 19. Upon arrival, Engine 19 and the tanker found nothing showing from the outside of the home. Chief 19-2 assumed command. The Engine 19 crew split into two groups: one entered the house with Captain 19-1, removed fire from the wood stove, and used a thermal imaging camera to check for fire inside the walls. The other group began laddering the roof. Company 18’s engine and rescue crews arrived on scene to assist with laddering the roof and interior operations, including removal of the stove pipe. Engine Rescue 4 was diverted to stand by at Station 19. Crews operated for approximately one hour. |
